What is personal color analysis?

Personal color analysis is a method for finding the specific range of colors that flatter you most, based on your natural coloring — your skin undertone, plus the depth and clarity of your features. Traditionally done in a studio with fabric drapes, it sorts you into a color season and gives you a palette to guide clothing, makeup, and accessory choices.

What are the 12 color seasons?

The 12 seasons expand the classic four (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) into three variations each: Light Spring, True Spring, Bright Spring, Light Summer, True Summer, Soft Summer, Soft Autumn, True Autumn, Deep Autumn, Bright Winter, True Winter, and Deep Winter. Each season has a distinct palette suited to a particular combination of warmth, depth, and clarity.

How accurate is Prismoy compared to an in-person analysis?

Prismoy uses the same measured method a professional analyst uses — evaluating undertone, depth, and clarity — rather than guessing. It delivers the same season result as an in-person studio session, along with the reasoning behind it, for a fraction of the typical $200+ cost.

Privacy Policy — Prismoy

Prismoy (“Prismoy,” “we,” “us”) makes a personal color-analysis app for iPhone. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

Your photo is analyzed entirely on your iPhone. It is never uploaded to us or anyone else. There is no account to create, and we never sell your data. Your photo stays on your device — kept so you can reuse it later, and yours to delete anytime.

Your photos and analysis

When you take a selfie for a color analysis, the image is processed on-device using Apple’s Vision framework and Prismoy’s own engine. The analysis — reading your skin undertone, depth, eyes, and hair — happens locally on your iPhone. Your photos are not sent to our servers, and we have no way to see them.

Your scan photo is saved on your device. When an analysis finishes, Prismoy keeps that photo on your iPhone so you can reuse it later — trying your palette colors on your own face in the Fitting Room, and creating your shareable reveal film. This isn’t something you opt into; it’s how those features work. While you’re still in onboarding the photo is held in memory only and isn’t written to disk, so if you leave before the analysis completes, nothing is saved. If you pick a photo from your library instead of taking one, that photo is saved on your device in the same way.

What’s stored, and how to remove it. The saved photo is a single image that lives only on your device (and, if you use iCloud backup, within your own Apple account). It stays there until you delete it — Prismoy never uploads it and never deletes it on its own. To remove it, open Profile → “Delete all my data,” which erases your photos along with your analysis, palette, and Color Card. Deleting the app removes everything too.

Face data

Some features read your face from the front camera, including data from the TrueDepth camera (ARKit face tracking) on supported devices. This is used only to power the features you choose to use:

Color analysis — reading your skin, eye, and hair tones from a selfie.
Live draping (Studio) — following your face in real time so palette colors can be previewed against it live.

All face processing happens on your device and in real time. Your face images and TrueDepth/face-tracking data are never uploaded to our servers and are never shared with, sold to, or accessed by any third party. We do not use face data for advertising, for identifying you by name, or for any purpose other than the features above.

Storage & retention. The real-time face-tracking data — TrueDepth depth information and ARKit face-mesh geometry — is used only in the moment and is never saved: no depth maps or face-mesh data are written to disk or uploaded. Your color result and your scan photo are saved on your device, as described under “Your photos and analysis” above — on your iPhone only, never uploaded, and removable anytime via Profile → “Delete all my data” or by deleting the app.

Information we do and don’t collect

Prismoy is built to need as little as possible.

No account. You do not sign up, and we do not ask for your name, email, or phone number to use the app. The first name you enter during setup stays on your device, apart from the one use described under “Purchases” below.
Purchases. When you buy Plus or Pro, the transaction is handled by Apple’s App Store. Apple, not Prismoy, processes your payment — we never see your card number or billing details. To unlock and restore what you bought across your devices we use RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives Apple’s record of the purchase along with a randomly generated app user ID, and we also attach a small profile to it so we can understand who buys and who doesn’t: your first name, your color season and how confident the reading was, how far you got in setup, and counts of how often you used each tool. It never receives your photos.
Analytics and crash reports. We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to see which screens and features are used and to be told when the app crashes. These record events such as “scan finished” or “paywall shown”, your color season, your app version, device model, iOS version, and country, against a randomly generated app-instance ID — not your name, your email, or any Apple ID. They never receive your photos. Crash reports contain the technical state of the app at the moment it failed.
Feedback you choose to send. If you use Profile → Send feedback or Report a bug, your message, star rating, app version, and device model are sent to our Google Firebase (Firestore) database so we can read and act on it. Nothing is sent unless you tap Send.
Feature configuration. The app asks Google Firebase Remote Config which optional features are switched on. This is a read of our settings — it sends no personal information.

Optional features that use device data

Camera. Used for your analysis, the live color mirror, and checking a garment. Frames are processed in real time on your device and are never transmitted. Live mirror and garment-check frames aren’t recorded; when you complete an analysis, that scan photo is saved on your device as described above.
Photo library. If you choose a photo instead of taking one, or share an image to Prismoy, we read only the image you select, and only on your device. A photo you pick to use for your analysis or Fitting Room is saved on your device the same way your scan photo is, and is removed by “Delete all my data.”
Approximate location for weather (optional). The daily “Color of Today” suggestion adapts to your local weather. To estimate your general (roughly city-level) area we look up your device’s IP address through ipwho.is, then fetch that area’s forecast from Open-Meteo. We never ask for or use precise GPS location for this, and we don’t store your location.
Notifications (optional). If you allow them, we schedule daily and occasional reminders locally on your device. Nothing is sent from a server, and no device token leaves your phone. You can turn these off any time in the app or in iOS Settings.
Outfit photos. The outfit images in your palette are downloaded from our content network (Bunny.net) as you browse them. Like any website request, that network sees your IP address and which image was requested. It is never told who you are or what your season is.

How your purchase unlocks across the app

Prismoy includes a share extension (“Check with Prismoy”) that lets you check a color from another app. To know whether your tier includes that feature, the app stores a small flag in a private, on-device app group shared only between Prismoy and its own extension. This flag contains no personal information.

Who your information is shared with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. The only companies that receive anything are the ones listed above, acting for us so the app can work: Apple (payments), RevenueCat (unlocking and restoring purchases), Google Firebase (analytics, crash reports, feedback, feature settings), ipwho.is and Open-Meteo (weather), and Bunny.net (images). They are bound to use it only to provide those services.

Children

Prismoy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices

Remove your photos, analysis, palette, and Color Card at any time with Profile → “Delete all my data.”
Revoke camera, photo, or notification access in iOS Settings.
Turn off Apple analytics sharing in iOS Settings.
Manage or request a refund for a purchase through Apple (see our Refund Policy).
Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing support@prismoy.com. Because there is no account, please tell us your first name and roughly when you bought so we can find the record.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for material changes, note it in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Your photos are not sent to our servers, and we have no way to see them.

When an analysis finishes, Prismoy keeps that photo in the app’s own private storage so you can reuse it later — trying your palette colors on your own face in the Fitting Room, and creating your shareable reveal film. This isn’t something you opt into; it’s how those features work. Some features read your face from the front camera. Prismoy uses on-device face-landmark and person-segmentation models — it does not use a depth or infrared sensor, and it does not build a face template that could identify you. This is used only to power the features you choose to use:

Permissions the app asks for

Camera — for your analysis, the live color mirror, and checking a garment. Frames are processed in real time on your device and are never transmitted. You can decline and still use the app by picking a photo from your gallery instead.
Photos you pick — Prismoy uses Android’s system photo picker, so it never asks for access to your whole gallery and only ever receives the single image you choose.
Notifications — optional. If you allow them, reminders are scheduled locally on your device; nothing is sent from a server and no device token leaves your phone. You can turn them off in the app or in Android Settings.
Internet — to load outfit photos, the weather, and your purchase status. Prismoy asks for no location permission at all.

Optional features that reach the internet

Your choices

Remove your photos, analysis, palette, and Color Card at any time with Profile → “Delete all my data.”
Revoke camera or notification access in Android Settings → Apps → Prismoy → Permissions.
Clear everything Prismoy has stored in Android Settings → Apps → Prismoy → Storage → Clear data, or by uninstalling the app.
Manage or request a refund for a purchase through Google Play (see our Refund Policy).
Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing support@prismoy.com. Because there is no account, please tell us your first name and roughly when you bought so we can find the record.
